Pasay City is launching a contact tracing app for its employees accessible through Quick Response (QR) Code.

“This is another step that we are undertaking as part of our overall COVID-19 response, particularly in the aspect of contact tracing. In this case, among our employees that are physically working here in City Hall as well as our attached offices and in the field,” Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said.

Pasay City has around 4,000 employees, who mostly report for work while the rest work from home.

In a memorandum to employees, City Administrator Dennis Acorda said the city government will launch the One Balikatan Contact Tracing App on Sept. 14 at the Pasay City Hall.  Posters containing the Quick Response (QR) Code will be posted in all offices within City Hall to make it easy for employees to download the app in their mobile phones.

The One Balikatan Tracing app is the latest addition to Pasay’s comprehensive contact tracing system to boost other strategies rolled out earlier by the city government.

The LGU earlier developed a Pasay QR Code COVID-19 Tracer App for commercial establishments in the city.
