Manila distributes 35,077 birthday cakes to senior citizens
The City of Manila has distributed 35,077 birthday cakes to senior citizens this year as part of their efforts to make their birthdays special. The initiative is a collaboration between the Manila Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), Cake My Day, and the leadership of Mayor Dra. Honey Lacuna.
The program aims to prioritize the needs and happiness of senior citizens in Manila. By giving them a simple gift on their birthday, the city hopes to put a smile on their faces and show them that they are valued members of the community.
In addition to the birthday cake distribution, the Manila government also offers other services to senior citizens. Every Wednesday, they can visit the newly renovated Bagong Manila Zoo for free, while malls in the city offer free movie screenings on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
The initiative has been well-received by the senior citizens of Manila, who expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. The program is a testament to the government's commitment to improving the quality of life of its citizens, especially the elderly.
The Manila government's efforts to provide for its senior citizens serve as a model for other local governments to follow. With simple yet meaningful gestures, such as distributing birthday cakes, they can make a significant impact on the lives of their constituents.
