Malabon mayor catches Covid
Malabon Mayor Lenlen Oreta tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on March 23, after undergoing a swab test as part of contact tracing, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Oreta said he currently has no symptoms but he “will be working at home in the following days.”
“There is also an ongoing contact tracing on those I interacted with these past few days,” Oreta said in a Facebook statement.
Oreta added that his testing positive for the virus “only shows that COVID-19 has a strong effect on the city of Malabon.”
He also reiterated the importance of following health protocols to avoid getting infected.
“On behalf of the city, we would continue to ensure that we bring down the cases of COVID-19 here in our city,” he added.
