Malabon inoculates 59% of target population
Malabon City is almost half-way done in terms of vaccinating its target population to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Data from the city’s health department showed 165,141 residents or 59 percent of the 280,000 target population have already got at least a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 87,998 or 31 percent completed their jab.
This came after the local government managed to administer 247,088 total vaccine doses.
Mayor Lenlen Oreta said the local government is targeting to achieve herd immunity by November 17.
“We continue to expedite our vaccination process, even during weekends and after vaccine hours, as long as there’s a new supply of vaccine from the national government,” he said.
Currently, there are 12 vaccination sites in the city located at Oreta Sports Complex, Epifanio de los Santos Elementary School, Ninoy Aquino Elementary School, Potrero Elementary School, Arellano University, Robinsons Town Mall, Fishermall Malabon, and parishes of Sts. Peter and John, Immaculate Conception, Immaculate Heart, San Bartolome and San Antonio de Padua.
